Having Covid and Social Media Feedback!

Hey guys!!! Welcome back to my blog! Hope your week has been great!

To say the very least, this school year has been a crazy one! From living off campus for the first time, to taking classes online and in person, to dealing with a global pandemic and actually contracting it; there was never a dull moment! Before I tell you a little bit about my quarantine, I thought I would take a minute to reflect on what I learned in my social media class, what I liked, and what I didn't!.

First and foremost I have loved blogging. It has become something fun and exciting to feel like I have an audience to tell some of my day to day stories or opinions to. It is a good and cathartic way to document your life but can also be educational as blogs have the potential to become total businesses, or aspects of an already existing business that someone like me could one day be employed by.

As far as topics go, my favorite was impression management. Whether you are looking to enter a career in Social Media or not, impression management as well as online privacy and what you are putting up online are all very important things to take into consideration, so learning more about them was helpful. I liked what I learned in class that we have to manage and invest in our online reputation because the world and the economy are so digitized now and if you are not investing in your online self, you may get left behind.

I also really liked learning about Canva and then having to test it out myself. The creative aspect of Social Media is something I really enjoy, so having an assignment to create something however I wanted, did not even feel like homework, but a fine life skill I got to try!

All of that said, nothing in the course was particularly boring to me. I would just say that the more interactive things were the most engaging but I am also a student who learns much more by doing and discussing versus reading or listening!

On a separate note, I just got out of quarantine after having Covid! This was so strange to me because it has been around for so long and I have been careful, so I almost assumed at this point that I was never going to get it. Unfortunately I was wrong and began my quarantine when a friend of mine who I had already been with for over 24 hours tested positive on March 31st. I tested positive a few days later so luckily we had each other, but it was still a bit sad and a stressful time logistically. I ended up being symptomatic and I fell behind in everything and became unorganized. It's okay though, I learned a lot and got closer to my friend! We ended up watching the Harry Potter movies which was cool because I had never seen them and I even did a little bit of artwork! Here's a picture I drew!

Anyway, if you made it this far, thanks for reading! I'm Nicoletta and I'm Just Happy to Be Here 🤗 HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!! ❤
